Honda is Recalling 187,000 Ridgelines Due to a Backup Camera Problem
Honda has issued an urgent recall for over 187,000 Ridgeline pickup vehicles manufactured between 2020 and 2024 because of a safety concern involving the inability of the backup cameras to display images. This serious issue is being caused by a malfunctioning wire harness in the tailgate, which is vulnerable to harm from water ingress and road salt. Frequent opening and closing of the tailgate presents a risk to safety since it can damage the harness and cut the backup camera’s connection to the dashboard.
Honda stores will replace the defective wiring harness with an improved model to fix this problem at no cost to the owners. This recall comes after a similar measure taken by Honda for similar issues with previous Ridgeline models. Notwithstanding the 402 warranty claims associated with this problem, no accidents or injuries have been reported as a result of it, according to information provided to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Honda Ridgeline pickup trucks produced between November 8, 2019, and April 24, 2024 are subject to this recall. Owners can arrange repairs or obtain more information by calling Honda at 888-234-2138. Honda’s internal reference for this recall is YI7, and the NHTSA campaign number linked to it is 24V321.
Visit the NHTSA website and enter the 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) of your automobile to guarantee your safety. There aren’t any open recalls for your car right now if no recall pops up. Nonetheless, it’s a good idea to frequently check for any updates on the safety of your car because recalls happen frequently and can impact older models.
