For Some Users, a Recent Upgrade to the MIUI Plugin Causes Bootloop Issues
Following a system upgrade, many users noticed problems with their Xiaomi, Poco, or Redmi phones. The firm acknowledged the issue with the most recent plugin update in an official statement on X.
After installation, the phone can get into a bootloop cycle from which there’s no way out short of a factory reset. Based on the information gathered, this problem appears to be limited to cellphones running MIUI.
According to Lavanguardia, a MIUI system app is the source of the bootloop problem. Xiaomi reportedly intended to update the app for customers running HyperOS, but the update also landed up on phones running MIUI, which resulted in an incompatibility issue and a boot looping state.
Although only a small percentage of customers are impacted, Xiaomi claims to have resolved the issue. Regretfully, only a factory reset carried out by one of Xiaomi’s service centers can resolve the problem. Naturally, everything of your data will be lost with a factory reset.
