The Pixel 2024 Update Fix Flickering Display and Problems in The Camera App
In order to address some of the annoying issues that Pixel owners are experiencing, Google is kicking out the year with a security patch.
The January 2024 security patch is reportedly going out for the Pixel 5a (5G), Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, and Pixel Tablet with update number UQ1A.240105.002, according to the company’s update. Users with devices from the Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Pixel Fold, or Pixel 8 series will receive version UQ1A.240105.05.
The patch is also being distributed to Verizon customers who own Pixel devices. Users who have the carrier will be able to download version UQ1A.240105.004.A1.
Google provides a repair for the Pixel Camera, albeit the change log is not that extensive. Users have been reporting crashes with the application “under certain conditions,” however the most recent patch should fix this issue. The following are the remaining fixes:

Fix for users who, under some circumstances, are unable to leave the Setup Wizard (Pixel Tablet)

Google has included five “High” level system vulnerability updates for its Pixel smartphones by delving into the Android Security Bulletin.
Five additional “High” level updates that targeted the framework of the Pixel line were also applied. Google has released two serious vulnerability updates for its Mali components in conjunction with Arm.
As the week comes to an end, it might be prudent to allow Google some time before you see the update on your device, as it has just recently begun to roll out.
Comparing the January patch to the December security update, it is substantially lighter. The Camera app received some “stability” tweaks last month, but January’s upgrade goes one step further. Additionally, a sharp battery depletion issue with the Pixel 8 series was fixed with the upgrade.
December saw the release of Android version 14 QPR2 Beta 2 to registered beta testers. What could be expected in March and during its feature drop was alluded to in this version. In addition to a few bug patches from the testing phase, Beta 2 offers a sneak peek at Google’s forthcoming “Internet” panel for Pixels.
Based on the findings, it appears that Pixel owners will be able to “Share Wi-Fi” with guests by just tapping a button, rather than providing them with a QR code when they drop by. As an alternative, there appears to be a way to drop your network’s credentials via Nearby Share.
