The Aston Villa goalkeeper was attacked by fans during a pitched attack
Manchester City won the Premier League title with two goals against Aston Villa, scoring three goals in five minutes.
After the match, the fans rushed to the ground. However, in the middle of the festivities, things seemed to get out of hand when fans attacked Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen.
Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard was furious at the situation, urging Manchester City to look into the situation before leaving the press conference to investigate Olsen.
In response, Manchester City issued a statement apologizing to Olsen and announced an investigation into the dispute.
“Manchester City would like to apologize to Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen, who was beaten as fans entered the pitch after the final whistle in today’s match,” the statement said.
“The club has launched an immediate investigation and once identified, the person responsible will be issued an indefinite stadium ban.”
