What is your legal name and age?
My legal name is Elijah Christian when I tell people that they instantly think of the Bible and would say I have a great name, As for my age i just turned 21 Recently April 16.
What is your stage name and how did you come up with it?
My stage name is DDB Yayo. I came up with the name in high-school it started as a group called dem dumbout boys (the DDB part) consisting of 3 of us, but eventually me and my boys started doing our own thing so I simply changed it to “dat dumbout boy yayo”.
Where are you from?
I’m was born in Jamaica queens, New York and raised upstate New York and Brooklyn New York until the age of seven. I was living with my mom and dad until they went to florida around when I was 5, I decided to stay with my grandma until the age of 7.
Where are you now?
I’m currently residing in Jacksonville, Florida now and I’ve been here for about 2 months hoping that I can get the exposure I have been waiting for.
Who would you say inspired you the most, as an artist?
I would say that rod wave expired me the most as an artist because without him getting me through my dark times and listening to his melodies in his raps . I probably wouldn’t be where I’m at now . He really uplifts people and I’m hoping to do the same with my music.
Have you heard the theory that some musicians write their best music while they’re depressed or going through a bad time?
Yes I have heard of the theory, Personally I would always sit down and write when I’m going through a bad time and 9 times out of 10 it would be one of the best tracks I ever made.
What’s the best advice you ever received?
The best advice I ever received is that its not bad to listen to what everyone says, but your smart enough to know which advice to take action on that would benefit you . Like if someone’s criticizing your music that’s higher in the music industry don’t call them a hater, don’t get mad actually take heed into what their saying and try to make it better next time.
What were your grades like at school?
I was a honor student up until the 6th grade after that my life took a turn for the worse. I started getting in the streets more and my grades started going down.
What’s your latest release?
My latest release is Called “To the Top” you can now stream it on all platforms and this is a song that you wouldn’t want to change.
