6 New Electric SUVs Are About To Arrive On Indian Roads

Among them are the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra 3XO EV, Maruti eVX, Mahindra XUV.e8, and Tata Harrier EV. To meet the rising demand for EVs, these cars will offer cutting-edge technologies, a long range, and fashionable styling.
1. Tata Curvv EV
Launching in a few weeks, the Curvv EV is set to become the first mass-market SUV coupe in India, taking cues from high-end vehicles such as the Porsche Cayenne Coupe and the BMW X6. With a 500 km/h range anticipated, this five-seater is believed to be built on the Acti.ev platform, which was previously unveiled with the Punch EV.
There will also be ICE versions of the Curvv available later in the launch window.A 12.3-inch touchscreen, an all-digital cluster, ADAS features, touch-sensitive capacitive controls, a 360-degree camera, a minimalist dashboard, and much more will be featured inside, as is the case with all EVs these days.
2. The Mahindra 3XO EV
By year’s end, Mahindra plans to introduce the all-electric XUV 3XO EV. This SUV, internally code-named the S240, is scheduled to go into production by November and will sit beneath the XUV400 EV. Although the introduction was postponed from its original mid-2024 timetable, it now demonstrates Mahindra’s dedication to growing its EV lineup.
The 35kWh battery that the XUV 3XO EV will have is yet unknown, as is the powertrain. Features including a digital instrument display, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a 360-degree camera are standard on the ICE versions of the 3XO. The Mahindra 3XO is anticipated to retail for between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 17 lakh.
3. Hyundai Creta EV
The Hyundai Creta EV is an all-electric variant of the Creta, the most well-liked mid-size SUV available. The XUV.e8 will be constructed on the new INGLO platform, and it will have a range of roughly 450 kilometers and the capacity to employ 60kWh and 80kWh battery packs with rapid charging up to 175kW. Rear-wheel and all-wheel drivetrain choices are available on the platform, with maximum power outputs of 285 PS and 394 PS, respectively.

5. Maruti Suzuki eVX
The first battery-electric car made by the business, the Maruti Suzuki eVX, is scheduled to be on sale in India in 2025. Additionally, it will be exported to Europe and Japan. It is anticipated that in early 2025, during the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, the production-ready eVX will be unveiled.
The eVX will be based on the idea unveiled at Auto Expo 2023 and will be roughly the same size as the Grand Vitara. During testing, the eVX was observed in Southern Europe. 6. Tata Harrier EV
The Tata Harrier EV is an all-electric SUV that replaces the current Harrier model. displayed as a near-production model at the Auto Expo. Due to Tata’s busy schedule, which includes the Nexon facelift, the Harrier/Safari facelift, and the Curvv EV, the launch, which was once anticipated by the end of 2023, is now more likely to occur in mid-late 2024.
Based on the tax savings for electric vehicles in India, the Harrier EV is anticipated to be priced between Rs 30 lakhs and Rs 35 lakhs (ex-showroom).
A new infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, rotary gear knob, 360-degree camera, and LED taillamps are just a few of the expected EV-specific interior changes for the Harrier EV, despite the lack of details on the vehicle’s interior. The Harrier EV is anticipated to have a 60kWh to 70kWh battery pack, providing a 400–500 km practical range. Tata has not yet made public announcements regarding the specifications.
