5-Door Power Gurkha SUV Unveiled with Updated 3-Door Model and 138bhp Diesel

After more than a year away, the Force Gurkha has finally made its way back to Indian soil. The Force Gurkha is now offered in three-door and five-door body types. It boasts a more potent diesel engine that complies with the more stringent BS6 Phase II pollution regulations. Despite using the same 2.6-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine from Mercedes-Benz as previously, the SUV’s highest power output is 138 horsepower, up 48 horsepower from the previous model. In addition, the torque value is currently 320 Nm. It comes with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard.

The new Force Gurkha 5-door and its revised 3-door version have a nearly identical design. Both variants include a dual-slat grille with Gurkha writing on the front, circular LED headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs), cornering fog lights, turn indicators positioned on the fenders, and a snorkel. The Gurkha 3-door’s boxy shape and body lines appear to be retained by the 5-door when viewed from the side, however it has two more rear doors and a wheelbase that is 425 mm larger. In addition, the Gurkha has 18-inch alloy wheels with diamond cuts, hefty wheel arches, and blacked-out door handles.

The Gurkha has a roof rack, a spare wheel positioned on the tailgate, and vertically stacked LED taillamps on the back. Red, Green, White, and Black are the four exterior colors available for both versions.

Force Gurkha 3-Door, 5-Door Dimensions

The Gurkha 5-door is 425 mm longer and 15 mm taller than the 3-door variant in terms of dimensions, measuring 4,390 mm in length and 2,095 mm in height (without roof carrier). In addition, its wheelbase is longer (2,825mm compared to 2,400mm for the 3-door). However, the width and all other measurements stay the same as the 3-door.

Features of the Force Gurkha 3-Door and 5-Door

The Force Gurkha’s dashboard now includes a 7.0-inch digital driver’s display in addition to a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connection. Together with these features, the SUV has powered OVRMd, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering, a 5-door bench seat in the second row, an automated start-stop system, and an electronically controlled shift-on-the-fly four-wheel-drive selection.

The SUV is equipped with dual airbags, traction control, hill-hold assist, electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), an anti-lock braking system (ABS), and three-point seatbelts for every passenger.
