4 New Electric SUVs Are Expected To Launch This Year
1. Tata Curvv EV:
Tata intends to introduce the electric Curvv in the upcoming months. According to reports, this midsize electric SUV coupe will have Vehicle-to-Load capability and a range of more than 500 km on a single charge. It will also support DC fast charging. This five-seater will have a 12.3-inch touchscreen, an all-digital cluster, ADAS, capacitive controls, a 360-degree camera, and other features. It is built on the Acti.ev platform, which is also used for the Punch EV.
2. MG Cloud EV:
MG plans to launch a five-seater electric crossover by the end of this year, which will be based on the Wuling Cloud EV. Being a CUV, it blends space with functionality. Either the 37.9 kWh or 50.6 kWh battery pack from the Cloud EV is anticipated to be used in this variant. Additionally, the company is working on a Gloster mid-life update for this CY.
3. Mahindra XUV.e8:
With the XUV.e8, Mahindra hopes to introduce it by December 2024. A possible market debut is scheduled for early 2025, barring a delay. Patent filings reveal characteristics that closely resemble the XUV700, such as a new two-spoke steering wheel and a triple-screen arrangement. The XUV.e8 is anticipated to have a range of more than 450 kilometers on a single charge, and its exterior will match the concept. There are options for single and dual electric motor configurations.
4. Kia EV9:
Kia intends to use the CBU approach to launch the EV9 in India by late 2024 or early 2025. This seven-seater SUV’s WLTP cycle driving range is claimed to be 541 kilometers worldwide. It may be supplied in India as a single fully-loaded trim, but it is available globally in both single- and dual-motor variants.
Constructed on the E-GMP skateboard platform, the cabin of the EV9 will be equipped with numerous cutting-edge amenities. Also, Kia plans to release the Syros small SUV in both ICE and EV configurations the following year.
