Toyota has released fresh information on the 2025 Crown lineup, which includes the addition of a new Nightshade type to the high-riding sedan. It will fall in between the top-tier Platinum trim and the preceding mid-tier Limited trim.
Although Toyota hasn’t revealed many details regarding the Crown Nightshade yet, some are known. Avoid the Nightshade if you’re looking for a pop of color. Only Storm Cloud gray or black paint is compatible with it. Along same lines, there’s also a pair of distinctive black 21-inch wheels, black door handles, and black badging.
The Crown’s 2025 pricing ranges from $42,535 for the XLE to $47,045 for the Limited. Next is the Nightshade, which has a starting price of $49,860 for the new model before the Platinum trim, which has a starting price of $56,085, significantly increases.
The Nightshade can only be purchased with the Crown’s regular 236-hp hybrid powertrain, just like the XLE and Limited can. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, three electric motors, and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) are paired with that configuration. The Platinum grade is the only one with the more potent Hybrid Max arrangement, which combines a single electric motor on the rear axle with a 2.4-liter turbo-4 engine for a total of 340 horsepower and a six-speed automatic transmission. On every model, all-wheel drive is standard.
Every Crown model from 2025 forward comes equipped with a heated steering wheel, as well as heated and ventilated front seats. Additionally, a head-up display is now a standard feature on the platinum trim.
