2025 Toyota Corolla FX Special Edition Makes Its Debut With A Bigger Screen And Sporty Touches
Toyota revealed a new Corolla model for the 2025 model year that would sport the FX nameplate from the 1980s. Together with the same 2.0-liter gasoline engine, the Toyota Corolla FX Special Edition gets a sportier chassis layout, bigger infotainment, 18-inch wheels, and a rear spoiler.
Inspired by the 1987 Toyota Corolla FX16, this unique edition was created. But unlike the previous generation RWD hot hatch, the current FX is built on the FWD Corolla sedan, with the mid-spec SE trim level providing a hint of sportiness.
A new set of 18-inch alloy wheels with machined elements in matte black and a spoiler installed on the tailgate set the FX apart visually. There are just three colors available for the special edition: Underground, Ice Cap, and Midnight Black Metallic. The roof, mirrors, and badging are always finished in black. At last, the FX sports the bolder bumpers that are already present on the SE and Nightshade Corolla trim levels.
The centerpiece inside is the newly installed 10.5-inch infotainment touchscreen dashboard, which takes the place of the old 8-inch model. The bigger display is standard in the FX and will be offered in other 2025 Toyota Corolla grades as well. Along with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 ADAS suite, the model also includes a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a wireless charging pad from the premium XSE trim.
The 2025 Toyota Corolla FX retains its standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine despite its aggressive appearance. The mill continues to produce 169 horsepower (126 kW / 171 PS) and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) of torque, exclusively paired to a CVT gearbox. There are no performance improvements over the lower versions. Toyota did, however, modify the chassis configuration by lowering the springs and adjusting the electronic power steering.
Fall of 2024 will see the arrival of the first 2025 Toyota Corolla FX Special Edition vehicles at US dealerships. Along with the rest of the Corolla’s 2025 MY lineup, pricing will be revealed closer to the vehicle’s market debut.
