With a price tag of Rs 1.03 crore (ex-showroom, pan-India), the upgraded BMW M2 has been released in India, marking a 5 lakh increase over the previous model. Although it has higher outputs, it still uses the same engine as the previous model, with very little exterior and interior design changes.
What’s New?
The same 3-liter 6-cylinder gasoline engine, which now generates more power and torque, powers the upgraded BMW M2. The following are the specific requirements:
Engine | 3-litre 6-cylinder petrol engine |
Power | 487 PS |
Torque | 550 Nm (MT) / 600 Nm (AT) |
Transmission | 6-speed MT, 8-speed AT |
Eight-speed AT and 6-speed MT
Notably, the automatic versions’ torque output has only increased by 50 Nm, but their power has grown by 27 PS.
The M2’s exterior remains the same, but it now sports new silver alloy wheels, black quad exhaust pipes, and black “M2” logos on the front and back with silver surrounds. The rear diffuser, tail lights, and LED headlights are all identical.
Its new three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel is upholstered in leather. Additionally, BMW offers an optional Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel. The dashboard design, sport seats, and black-themed cabin are all the same as the previous model.
Safety and Features
The 2024 BMW M2 maintains its 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, 14.9-inch touchscreen, and linked automotive technology. The revised operating system (OS) on the 2024 M2 is what’s different. It also features cruise control, heated seats, a heads-up display, and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
Six airbags (as standard) and driver-support technologies including parking assist, reversing assist, and attention help make up its safety net. A rearview camera, cornering brake control (CBC), dynamic stability control (DSC), and several airbags are additional safety features.
